Junior Councillors Participate in First Friday Clean-Up Campaign

In line with the National Clean-Up Campaign held on the first Friday of every month, Bubi Rural District Junior Councillors actively participated in clean-up activities at their respective schools across the district. The campaign brought together junior councillors from schools including Somvubu High School, Alpha Alpha Secondary School, and many other learning institutions within Bubi District. Through their involvement, the young leaders demonstrated their commitment to environmental conservation and community development.

The district's main clean-up event was held at Lonely Mine Shops in Ward 5, where community members, local leaders, and stakeholders joined hands to promote a cleaner and healthier environment. The exercise focused on collecting and properly disposing of litter, raising awareness about responsible waste management, and encouraging residents to maintain clean surroundings.

The participation of Junior Councillors highlights the important role young people play in national initiatives aimed at preserving the environment. By taking part in such activities, they lead by example and inspire fellow learners and community members to adopt sustainable environmental practices. Their dedication reflects a growing sense of civic responsibility and demonstrates that environmental stewardship is a shared duty that requires the involvement of all generations.

The clean-up campaign also served as an educational platform, reinforcing the importance of keeping public spaces free from litter, protecting natural resources, and promoting public health. Through continued participation in these monthly initiatives, Junior Councillors are helping to build a culture of cleanliness, environmental awareness, and community pride throughout Bubi District.
