Bubi RDC Partners with Bekezela to Drive Grassroots Women’s Economic Empowerment

Bubi RDC Partners with Bekezela to Drive Grassroots Women's Economic Empowerment

The Bubi Rural District Council recently convened a productive Gender and Local Economic Development (LED) Committee meeting at the council chambers to review and accelerate community-led growth strategies across the district. A major highlight of the session was the announcement of a vital partnership aimed at fostering self-reliance, driving local economic development, and creating sustainable livelihoods for rural women.

In a significant boost to local enterprise, Bekezela generously donated an industrial overlocking machine to the Bubi Rural District Council. This essential piece of equipment is specifically dedicated to supporting groups of women across the district who have undergone rigorous vocational training. By equipping these newly trained women with the machinery needed to scale their production, the initiative bridges the gap between skills development and active market participation.

This collaborative effort underscores Bubi RDC’s ongoing commitment to economic empowerment. By transforming theoretical training into tangible business opportunities, the project is designed to help local women establish sustainable income-generating projects, uplift household standards of living, and contribute meaningfully to the broader economic growth of the Bubi District.
